The Tripura Government has made wearing of face cover/mask mandatory in government offices and public sector undertakings (PSUs), other offices as well as public places.
This was announced by state minister Ratan Lal Nath while interacting with media in Agartala on Tuesday.
He told that the State Cabinet has taken this decision and if anyone found not wearing mask or face cover, penalty will be imposed on that person.
The minister also said, anyone found violating the norm will be fined Rs 100 for first offence and Rs 200 for subsequent offences.
The minister urged everyone to wear a mask and be safe.
Nath further said the State Government has called an all-party meeting on Wednesday to discuss the COVID-19 scenario in the State.
The meeting will held at the civil secretariat at 4 PM, he informed.
