Three cyclists from Kerala are stranded in Tripura since the beginning of the lockdown.

Three youths began a cycling expedition from Kerala on December 15, 2019, with an aim to watch the Tokyo Olympics live, however, the coronavirus pandemic spoiled their plans.

As they arrived in Agartala, after covering several Indian states and neighbouring Bangladesh, they did not have the slightest idea that their Tokyo dream was coming to an abrupt end.

The youths- Dona Jacob, Clifin Francis and Haseeb Ahasen- have been kept under medical supervision once they entered Tripura.

They planned to visit Mizoram, Manipur and Myanmar before they finally began for Japan.

“We are definitely disappointed, but we have not given up hope and on our dream. Maybe next year we will try again,” said Clifin while speaking to Northeast Now.

“We understand the medical emergency. We are thankful to the Tripura government for the hospitality,” Dona said.

They plan to return to Kerala once the lockdown is lifted.
