Agartala: Former Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Students’ Union president and Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar is set to arrive in Tripura tomorrow to participate in the nomination filing rally of Congress candidate Ashish Kumar Saha, as announced by former Minister and MLA Sudip Roy Barman.
During a press conference held this afternoon, Roy Barman stated that Congress and INDIA bloc’s candidate Ashish Kumar Saha will officially submit his nomination papers for the West Parliamentary seat. He further elaborated that the event will commence with all Congress leaders and activists assembling in front of Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan. Subsequently, a procession will traverse through various streets of Agartala before Saha files his nomination.

“I urge all students, youths, and mothers to extend their blessings to our candidate. The gathering will commence at 10 AM, where Congress leader and youth icon Kanhaiya Kumar will grace the rally and address the attendees. Additionally, a substantial number of CPI (M) supporters and leaders are expected to participate in the Congress procession before the nomination submission,” he emphasized.

Responding to inquiries regarding BJP candidate Biplab Deb’s nomination filing rally also scheduled from Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan tomorrow, Roy Barman referenced a prior communication sent to the Returning Officer of the West Parliamentary seat. He highlighted that the party had informed the authorities well in advance, asserting that the West District Superintendent of Police and the Returning Officer were cognizant that no concurrent party gatherings were planned for the day.
“We have furnished a list of star campaigners, and we are confident of their attendance,” he concluded, addressing the gathered reporters.
