Guwahati: The Assam Excise Department announced an increase in alcohol prices across the board, effective from April 1, 2024.
All categories of alcoholic beverages, including Indian-made foreign liquor, beer, wine, and ready-to-drink beverages would see a price hike.

According to the new regulations, beer prices will see a minimum increase of Rs. 33 to Rs. 43 per 650 ml bottle, while India-made spirits will see a range increase depending on the brand category, with minimum prices reaching Rs 530 for a 750 ml bottle.

The price hike extends to consumption via Canteen Store Depots (CSD) and paramilitary wholesale warehouses, though with slightly lower tax rates compared to civilian purchases.
Here, beer prices will see a minimum increase of Rs. 16 to Rs. 20 per 650 ml bottle, and India-made spirits will range up to Rs. 262 for a 750 ml bottle.
