Dharmanagar appears to be the transit point for the drug peddlers as recovery of cannabis becomes a regular phenomenon. In a major breakthrough a huge consignment of cannabis was recovered from Dharmanagar ISBT on Monday morning.  Regular seizure of cannabis in this part of Tripura indicates that the state has huge production of this contraband psychoactive drug.

The BMS supporters on Monday accosted four passengers suspecting them of carrying cannabis in their bags.  The four youths identified as Sonu kumar, Awdhesh Kumar, Bikash Kumar, Bipul Kumar reached Dharmanagar from Agartala. They were about to get into a Guwahati bound night super bus. As they were carrying huge luggage bags with them, the BMS workers asked them to open their luggage.  A quarrel also broke out between the four drug peddlers and the BMS workers. The four passengers refused to show their bags. Later the BMS workers forcibly checked their bags and found huge consignment of cannabis inside the luggage.
