One female patient who was admitted to a community hospital since the last four days was found COVID-19 positive on Saturday in Tripura.

Immediately afterward, the health administration has shut down that hospital and sent all the health staff and other patients to home quarantine.

Somamura Community Health Centre in Sepahijala District was shut down on Saturday after an indoor patient was found COVID-19 positive.

The entire hospital has been literally sealed fearing further coronavirus infection but emergency services were kept functioning.

Around 70,000 people solely depend on the hospital.

The woman, without travel history, had been admitted in the hospital for the past three days.

At least 12 other patients shared the room with the COVID-19 positive patient triggering panic among the healthcare staff also.

It has been speculated that three doctors and six medical staffers of the hospital who treated the COVID-19 positive patient may develop the virus infection.

Sending impending trouble, all the medical staffers including three doctors and other patients were asked to undergo COVID-19 test on an emergency basis.

It is notable that, last month another community hospital in Sonamura sub-divison was shut down for temporary basis after one indoor patient was found COVID-19 positive.
