Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma on Wednesday took part in Gandhi Sankalp Yatra organised at Churraebari railway station in North Tripura district.

The aim of the yatra is to preach Mahatma Gandhi‘s principles of non-violence and cleanliness.

The deputy CM was accompanied by Assembly Deputy Speaker Biswabandhu Sen, MP Rebati Tripura, TIDC Chairman Tinku Roy among others.

“This yatra has been taken out to preach Gandhiji’s ideals of non-violence and cleanliness and is aimed at the present generation,” Debbarma said.

The rally will be carried out in the entire state of Tripura till October 31.

The deputy CM also urged the people to stop using single-use plastic completely.

“Single-use plastic is a bane for the environment. We should change our habits and stop using it completely,” he said.

“Let’s make our homes and offices single-use plastic-free,” the deputy CM further urged.
