At least thousand of vehicles, especially goods loaded truck, have been stalled for several days as vehicles are unable to cross a stretch between Kacharichara under Kumarghat block to Singichara under Block in NH8 due to the deplorable condition of the road.

The condition of the road has worsened in the past few days due to lack of maintenance at the onset of monsoon.

The drivers and co-drivers complained of a scarcity of food and water.

Tripura is fully dependent on this highway for the supply of essentials, food grain, fertilisers, petroleum products, construction materials and other commodities from different states of India and the state might see a crisis of goods if the condition of roads does not get better.

Passage for an ambulance became tough through this road.

The driver’s complaint regarding lack of food and water as they are stranded for the last three days.

They further appealed for help from the government for repairing the road as soon as possible.
