Eight persons from Tripura on Monday tested positive for coronavirus, however, none of them is present in the state and is presently outside.
Health department sources informed that the eight men were a part of the group that took part in the religious congregation in Nizamuddin.
“The eight men are presently being treated in different parts of the country. They have been identified as residents of Tripura,” health officials said.
“It has also been confirmed that they took were present in Nizamuddin Markaz,” the officials added.
“However, we don’t have a direct positive case in the state,” the officials confirmed.
Tripura health secretary Debasish Basu informed that so far 223 samples have collected and tested in the state and all of them have tested negative for coronavirus.
He further informed that in total 115 are in quarantine centres and over 2400 persons are placed under home quarantine and the government is monitoring the situation strictly.
