Another 27 people have tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday in Tripura, taking total number of cases to 1,182.
Chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb, also the health minister, informed that of the 1,279 samples tested for COVID-19, 27 people found positive.

The surge of COVID-19 cases in the State is occurring with passenger special trains arriving with stranded people, especially from hotspots like Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. Some returnees from Bangladesh were also found to be infected.
Out of the positive cases, Unakoti district has reported two positive cases, South district has reported 19 cases , West and Gomati districts have reported three cases each.
