Protesting the implementation of CAB in Northeast, Tripura Congress on Wednesday has called for a 24-hour Tripura bandh on Thursday.
The bandh has been supported by Twipra Students’ Federation (TSF), a part of North East Students’ Organisation (NESO), and Tripura United Indigenous People Council (TUIPC)- forum of surrendered militants.

Earlier on Wednesday, Tripura Congress took out a rally against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.
The otherwise peaceful became violent when bandh supporters and opposers clashed at Ambasha and Kamalpur areas of the state.
To disperse the protesters and bring, the police had resorted to lathi-charge injuring several Congress leaders.

Two journalists were also injured in the lathi-charge.
In a statement, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb appealed the people to maintain peace and calm and requested to withdraw the bandh call.
Former CM Manik Sarkar has also asked the people to maintain peace.
Normal life in Tripura came to a grinding halt on Wednesday as protests against CAB continued for the second day.
National highways in the state were blocked and train services also remained suspended in the state on Wednesday.
Tripura University and MMB State University have cancelled all its examinations till Friday.
Internet and SMS services in the state were snapped on Tuesday.
