Healthcare giant Apollo Hospitals is keen to set up a super specialty hospital in Tripura capital Agartala.
The assurance has come following a meeting between state chief minister Biplab Deb and Apollo top brass including its president V S Reddy on Monday.
Government sources informed that the meeting was very fruitful and the Apollo group is ready to set up a super speciality hospital in the town.
The meeting between the chief minister and Apollo group top brasses was held at civil secretariat.
The Apollo authorities have told the State Government that they are interested to set up the super speciality hospital with facilities of neurology, cardiology and nephrology.

It is learned from government sources that the State Government is thinking to lease the newly constructed IGM hospital building to the Apollo group for this purpose.
The Apollo group top brass visited the newly constructed building and they were very much happy to see the infrastructure.
Biplab wrote on his facebook page after the meeting:
“Had a productive meeting with V Satyanarayana Reddy, president-New Initiatives, Apollo Hospitals. During our talk discussed on their proposal of setting up a Multi Speciality Hospital in Agartala which will mainly include Cardiology, Neurology & Nephrology facilities. Healthcare infrastructure of State will be reliable once Apollo group set up their hospital here. Patients will not require to visit other states for quality healthcare services, also it will generate revenue and employment for our State.”
