Another undertrial prisoner of Tripura’s Central Jail has tested positive for Covid19.
In the first week of June, four undertrial prisoners at the Central Jail tested positive for Covid19 and the new positive case in the same jail was detected on Monday night.

With the new case, a total of five jail inmates have tested Covid19 positive in Tripura.
The man, who has been infected by Covid19 on Monday night, was arrested on June 24 in connection with a theft case by the Airport Police.

He was produced in the court on June 25.
The police sought a three-day remand in the court.
The arrested man was sent to police remand by the court and was kept in the Airport police station lockup till June 27 for interrogation.
On June 27, he was produced before the court again and the court sent him to the judicial custody.
The man’s sample was collected for Covid19 test on June 27.
On Tuesday, the positive jail inmate was sent to the Covid Care Center at Hapania in Agartala.
Official sources said, the undertrial prisoner has no travel history.
Two of the four undertrial prisoners, who tested positive for Covid19 earlier this month, were arrested under the NDPS Act, while the two others were arrested by police in a murder case.
The central jail is located at Prabhurampur at Bishalgarh in Sepahijala district.
