Agartala‘s vegetable vendors extending support to the centre’s decision have decided to stop the use of single-use plastic bags from October 2.

The shopkeepers have begun an initiative to stop using plastic bags and they have strictly prohibited customers from bringing plastic bags.

The initiative has been taken by the vendors of Agartala’s Maharajganja market.

The vendors, as per the resolution, have collected all plastic bags from the spot and destroyed them.

They have also urged the customers to carry eco-friendly bags for shopping.
