Last Saturday, a doctor on duty at Agartala-Akhaura international check post tested positive for COVID19 on May 28, on which day the Indians stranded in Bangladesh returned to the country through the check post.
Six BSF jawans and two officials, who were on duty at the Agartala-Akhaura international check post, also tested positive for COVID.
A total of 9 persons tested found positive from the ICP.

After reports of 9 persons testing positive from the ICP last Sunday night, the check post was closed down by the authorities.
Initially, it was closed for 48 hours, but later the time period was increased.
The Bangladeshi travellers, who used this check post for returning to their land, remained stranded in Agartala for the last six days.
On Saturday, after opening of the check post, 24 Bangladeshi nationals returned to their home through the ICP.
But the authorities are yet to allow movement of goods-laden vehicles through the check post.
Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb said: “Integrated Check Post, Agartala was closed for past 6 days following the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, the check post has been opened and 24 Bangladeshi citizens have returned to their home. We are taking all precautionary measures at borders to keep everyone secure.”
