Sensation prevails in Tripura after the news of a 90-year-old woman’s rape spread like wildfire.
The incident took place during Durga Puja.
But it came to light only after the family members of the woman lodged an FIR against the rapist.
The incident took place at Baraldi village of Kanchanpur area in the North Tripura district.
The old woman, who is a widow, was raped as the entire state was celebrating Durga Puja when she was alone in her home.
The rape accused has been identified as Anjan Nama.
After the incident, Nama has been absconding to evade arrest.
The family members of the woman have lodged the FIR at Kanchanpur police station.
The woman said the incident took place on October 24 at night.
The incident added to the list of crimes against women in Tripura that continue to be reported from different parts of Tripura.
