A total of 5 bodies were recovered from different places in Tripura on Tuesday.

While one is a murder case, another is a suspected case of suicide.

One of the bodies was found in river water while an old man’s body was found lying in agricultural land and a newborn’s body was recovered on the side of a road.

The bodies were recovered from Jolaibari in South Tripura, Amarpur in Gomti district and Kailasahar in Unkoti district.

The body of a 40-year-old man, identified as Bir Singh, was recovered from Unkoti tourist spot.

The body of the man has injury marks of hitting with something heavy article as his head was smashed.

The body also had injury marks in other parts.

A team of police, led by Kailashahar police station officer-in-charge, rushed to the spot and started an investigation.

A dog squad was also used in the investigation.

A person has been arrested as a suspect, police said.

And they are looking for another suspect.

Bir Singh worked in a temple at Unkoti hill.

The bodies of two persons were recovered at Jolaibari in South Tripura district.

Locals noticed the body of Fanindra Sarkar, a resident of Hospital Para in North Jolaibari, hanging in a rubber garden owned by Rakhal Roy Barman in the Kalsi Mukh area.

Sarkar was 65 years old.

He left home on Monday afternoon and did not return home.

On Tuesday morning, the people of Kalsirmukh area found the body of Fanindra Sarkar hanging in the rubber garden.

Meanwhile, locals saw the body of Nitai Bhowmik, a resident of Ashram Para of Jolaibari, lying in the agricultural field of one Krishna Namah in West Jolaibari.

After the two unnatural deaths, the police personnel recovered the bodies and took them to Baikhora Primary Health Centre and Jolaibari Social Health Center for conducting post-mortem.

Police are investigating the incident.

The body of a newborn baby was found in the morning on the side of Navram Bari Road in Koifang ADC village.

An unidentified body was also recovered from Gomoti river at 7 am on Tuesday.

The body was stuck in a tree on the bank of the river Gomoti, north of Kamariakhola in Amarpur.

Birganj police recovered the body from the spot.
