With the initiative of the 55th Border Security Force (BSF) Battalion, a free health camp was organized at Irani village under Kailasahar subdivision of Unakoti district of Tripura.
Quite a number of doctors conducted the health camp along with a BSF doctor. The camp began from morning 10 am and continued till 4 pm in the afternoon.
During the camp, the team attended to at least 385 people and gave free consultation and medicines.
The local villagers were also made aware of hygienic practices and preventive measures.
The free health camp was availed by villages who have limited access to healthcare. The villagers expressed their profound gratitude to the BSF for conducting the medical camp in their locality.
Talking to media, BSF 55th Commandant Battalion R K Dhyankar stated that the medical camp brought smiles and succour to the villagers who have limited access to healthcare.
The medical camp is yet another testimony of the BSF for maintaining a close and harmonious relationship with the local populace and living up to the sobriquet ‘Friends of the Northeast’.
