A serosurvey conducted by the Tripura government revealed that 34 per cent of people in Tripura have developed the SARS-CoV-2 antibodies.

This was revealed by Tripura education minister, Ratan Lal Nath in Agartala on Wednesday.

According to the survey report, 41.76 per cent people in West Tripura, 22.09 per cent people in North Tripura, 37.06 per cent people in Unakoti, 25.36 per cent people in Dhalai, 39.53 per cent people in Khowai, 41.40 per cent people in Sepahijala, 40.50 per cent people in Gomati and 19.70 per cent people in South Tripura district have developed the SARS-CoV-2 antibodies.

The minister said that the Covid-19 situation in the West Tripura district, which has been witnessing a spike in positive cases, has improved.

South and North Tripura districts now have the highest caseload of positive cases.

The state government has made a database of all the frontline workers in the state health department. When the vaccine for Covid-19 will be made available, first priority will be accorded to vaccinating the health workers, he added.

The minister had also attended a virtual review meeting where Union health minister, Harsh took stock of the Covid-19 situation in seven states reporting a high caseload and high fatality rate.
