Two more positive patients died of infection in Tripura on Sunday, taking the state’s COVID19 death toll to 13.

The news has been confirmed by Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb in a tweet on Sunday.

Chief minister Deb informed that while one of the deceased is from West Tripura district, the other victim is from Gomati district.

However, the chief minister did not reveal the names of the COVID19 victims.

While one COVID19 positive patient died of infection in June, the 12 other patients have died this month.

The chief minister also informed that 37 new COVID19 positive cases have been detected in Tripura on Sunday.

A total of 2,567 tests were conducted in the state on Sunday, out of which 882 (RT-PCR tests) samples tested negative while 37 samples tested negative out of 1,685 during Antigen tests.

Out of the 37 new COVID19 infected patients, 7 are from West Tripura, 10 are from Sepahijala, 11 are from Gomati, 1 is from Khowai and 8 positive patients are from North Tripura district.

In another tweet, chief minister Deb said 126 COVID19 patients have been discharged on Sunday from various district Covid Care Centres (CCCs) and district civil hospitals after their test results came negative for the virus.

“I pray for the speedy recovery of all the COVID-19 patients. We shall overcome soon,” the chief minister added.

Meanwhile, the three-day total lockdown will start in the state from Monday morning.
