Agartala: A rape survivor in Tripura has reportedly alleged that she was sexually abused by a magistrate inside his chamber while seeking to record her statement in connection with her previous rape case.
The incident allegedly occurred on February 16th at the chamber of First Class Judicial Magistrate, Kamalpur.

The woman stated in her complaint that while giving her statement, the judge, inappropriately touched her.

She immediately fled the chamber and informed lawyers and her husband about the incident.

Her husband also lodged a separate complaint with the Kamalpur Bar Association.
District and Sessions Judge Gautam Sarkar, along with Chief Judicial Magistrate Satyajit Das, visited the court and initiated an investigation.

They also met with members of the Kamalpur Bar Association to gather their perspectives on the allegations.
While no official complaint has been received by the Tripura High Court yet, Registrar General V Pandey assured action upon receiving a formal complaint.
A three-member panel headed is currently investigating the allegations.
