Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT), the alliance partner of BJP-led government in Tripura hinted that they may contest solo in Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election.
IPFT’s assistant general secretary and party’s spokesperson Mangal Debbarma told that after Assembly election in Tripura, IPFT contested all the elections alone.
He also said they wanted alliance with BJP in all the elections, but BJP leaders did not give proper attention and for this they contested solo in all elections.
And now it may be possible that they might contest alone in ADC election, which will be held next year, he added.
Mangla Debbarma was talking in a press conference on Wednesday night at Agartala Press club.
He said IPFT will fight the election on its own but they are open for talks with any other political party.
He also said it may possible that in ADC election, IPFT may go for alliance with other parties.
But he also claimed that they are still in the alliance with BJP and they are still in the State Government as coalition partner.
He told ADC election will not affect the coalition government in in the State.
It is notable that after the Assembly election, BJP did not give much room to IPFT.
And that’s why they contested independently in all the elections.
In sixty member Tripura assembly, IPFT has eight MLAs and BJP has 36 MLA.
Mangla Debbarma also told that his party will celebrate Tripraland statehood demand day at Khumlung on Friday.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, Manish Tamang, Biswajit Dumari, Nirodh Reddy may come to join their programme.
It is also notable that IPFT is demanding separate state.
