In spite of Congress losing its lone Northeastern State, Mizoram, party supporters in Tripura capital Agartala are celebrating the victory of the party which is going to form government in at least three States, said Tripura Pradesh Congress president Birajit Sinha.

Sinha said, “Actually as the result for the five States where polling has taken place, it is revealed that BJP is not coming to power in any of these States. These five States have become BJP free and under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, Congress is forming Government in three States and so, the Congress workers are very happy, raising slogans and celebrating.”

He also said, “In the coming Lok Sabha election, there shall be anti-BJP alliance under Rahul Gandhi and the government will be formed under him because even in the by-elections not a single seat the BJP had won. So, the trend speaks that in the coming Lok Sabha election the government will be formed under the Congress.”

Sinha added: “BJP in 2014 election in its manifesto had made a lot of promises and but Modi had not fulfilled even a single of them. BJP only got 31 per cent of the vote. During that time anti-BJP forces were divided but now under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi they have come together and so it can be said that in the coming Lok Sabha the Congress will form Government.”

In the evening, Congress supporters were found dancing with photograph of Rahul Gandhi in the beat of the drums, burning crackers and distributing sweets in front of the illuminated Congress Bhavan here.
