Padma Shri Olympian gymnast Dipa Karmakar organised Durga Puja at her house for the first time this year and among other visitors Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb also visited her house on Thursday evening.
Dipa along with the family members and coach Bishweshar Nandi received the Chief Minister who along with his wife Niti Deb and son Aryan Deb took part in the Durga Puja celebration at the gymnast’s house at Abhoynagar.

Dipa expressed that she is very happy that the Chief Minister along with his wife and son came to her house on the occasion of Durga Puja.
She added that goddess Durga is the symbol of power in women and shall bless her to achieve what she wishes along with all others.
Dipa’s father Dulal Karmakar, a retired weightlifting coach of Sports Authority of India (SAI) said that as Dipa who throughout the year remains out of house had given her consent that she shall stay at home during the Durga Puja festival so they had organized the celebration at their house for the first time and are happy that the state Chief Minister along with his family members visited their house on the penultimate day of Navami.

Deb had also visited a few other renowned households of Agartala where Durga Puja is taking place for the last few decades.
