Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Sunday inaugurated the National School Games Under-17 Girls Football Competition in Agartala.
Informing about the competition, Chief Minister Deb on his Twitter handle on Sunday stated: “Inaugurated the National School Games Under-17 Girls Football Competition in Agartala today.”
The national football event is being participated by a large number of girls football teams from different parts of the country.
Tripura Sports Minister Manoj Kanti Deb while inaugurating the Under-17 State meet of Khoicho and Kabaddi in the bordering subdivision of Kamalpur in the northern Tripura district of Dhalai at Ambassa had declared that the State would host the national women’s under-17 football tournament in December.
He said that the such initiatives have been taken buy the State Government as an effort to encourage the new generation towards games and sports.
“Games and sports can easily create a healthy and addiction-free society. And it is the sole aim of the state government,” Tripura Sports Minister Deb had said, adding, “With this aim Tripura Sports Act has been implemented recently. And it has been done to ensure that there should be only one state organization in each of the 32 sports event.”
The State Spots Minister also stated that the Union Government had assured of developing infrastructure in the sports arena.
“Our sole aim is to ensure the uplift of new merits in sports,” Sports Minister Deb said.
