Tata Motors on Friday said it has extended the last date of original equipment warranty and free service period till July 31 for customers whose expiry dates for these services is between March 15 and May 31.
In a tweet, the company stated, “ANNOUNCEMENT for our customers: Warranty and Scheduled Service Period extended* till 31st July. So, stay home, stay safe and ensure #SafetyFirst. *Applicable only for Passenger vehicles with OE Warranty and Free Service Period expiring between May 15-May 31.”
The decision has been taken following the 21-day lockdown of the entire nation which has been imposed by the central government in an attempt to control the spread of coronavirus.
All Tata Motors workshops will ensure that the customers have been informed of this extension, the company said in a statement.
The total number of coronavirus cases in India increased to 724 on Friday.
Out of the total patients, 677 are Indians and 47 are foreign nationals.
The death toll due to coronavirus in the country increased to 17 on Friday.
Union minister of health & family welfare, Harsh Vardhan held a meeting to review actions and preparedness for COVID-19 management through video conferencing with health ministers, chief secretaries of states and union territories s and other related officers of the Health Department on Friday.
Addressing the participants Harsh Vardhan stressed on the importance of social distancing for effective containment of the disease.
He asked all the states to be more vigilant and implement all possible containment strategies to break the chain of the transmission of the disease in India.
He urged the states/UTs for ensuring strict implementation of the Lockdown and ensure the availability of essential services and commodities and also stressed on the importance of setting up dedicated hospitals for COVID-19 in the States.
