Dibrugarh: A Dibrugarh court on Thursday (September 12, 2024) sent actor-choreographer Sumi Bora and her photographer husband Tarkik Bora, arrested in connection with an alleged multi-crore online trading scam, to five-day police custody.
The controversial duo was produced before the court after being arrested by the Dibrugarh police earlier in the day.

Though the police sought seven-day custody, the court remanded them in five-day police custody.

The duo, after being detained by the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam police, was reportedly kept at Dibrugarh’s Gymkhana Club where they had their breakfast before being brought to the Dibrugarh police station amid tight security.

While refusing to divulge much, Dibrugarh Superintendent of Police Rakesh Reddy told media persons detailed statements would be made only after the accused are thoroughly interrogated.
“The duo was handed over to Dibrugarh police at around 9 am by the STF. We will interrogate them only after which everything will be clear,” SP Reddy said.
