Masks are an essential type of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which must be possessed by everyone during the period of the coronavirus pandemic.

In order to prevent ourselves from the chances of getting infected by the deadly virus, we should always wear a face mask while going out for urgent requirements or while cleaning our houses.

According to a report published in Pub Med analyses shows that if 50 per cent of the population were to wear masks, only 50 per cent of the population would be infected by the virus.

Once 80 per cent of the population wears a mask, the outbreak can be stopped substantially.

If you are using a reusable or homemade face cover, it is necessary to follow some precautions while using them.

Firstly, always wash your mask daily in order to keep it completely clean and free from dirt.

This step is very important as using a dirty mask to cover your nose and mouth will only increase the chances of getting sick.

Secondly, make sure you wash your hands with soap or handwash and sanitize them properly before wearing your mask as touching your nose or mouth with dirty hands will also enhance the chances of becoming ill.

Thirdly, wash your mask after use and store it a clean place after it is dry.

Lastly, never share your mask with anyone as the second person might be infected if he/she uses it.

Always ensure that everyone in your family has their own masks.
