All sports persons should take every game as a learning experience: Nemcha Kipgen

Nemcha Kipgen Manipur Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister, on Tuesday attended the second Day of the 37th Junior National Kho-Kho Championship, 2017-18 at BASU ground, Khangabok, about 25 km south of Imphal in Manipur’s Thoubal District.

The Championship was organized by Manipur Amateur Kho-Kho Association in collaboration with District Administration, Thoubal under the aegis of Kho-Kho Federation of India(KKFI).

Addressing the gathering, Minister Nemcha Kipgen highlighted the importance of sports and education in shaping a person. She urged every sportsperson to lead a disciplined life so as to flourish in the national and international arenas.

She stated that Manipur is known all over the country as a powerhouse of sports.

She is optimistic that once the Sports University is completed, the state will produce many more successful sportspersons who will bring laurels to the state as well as the country.

As winning and losing is part of every game, she advised all the sportsperson to take every game as a learning experience and further enhance their skills. Altogether about 1000 kho kho players, officials representing 32 boys and girls teams from various states of the country besides other members of KKFI are participating in the championship.

The five-day championship was inaugurated by Education Minister Th Radheshyam along with Wangjing Tentha MLA Paonam Brojen on Monday.
