Manipur: Kuki-Zo community rallies for unity, Minister Nemcha Kipgen leads

Imphal: On the eve of India’s 78th Independence Day,  the Kuki-Zo community led by Nemcha Kipgen, Manipur Minister for Textiles, Commerce & Industries, and Cooperation joined the nation in a powerful display of patriotism during the third edition of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign on Wednesday.

Led by Textiles Minister Nemcha Kipgen, thousands of community members participated in a 20-kilometre bike rally from Gamgiphai to Kangpokpi, showcasing their commitment to a “Viksit Bharat”.

The rally was met with enthusiastic support from locals along National Highway 102.

“As Prime Minister Narendra Modi has envisioned, let us turn this festival into a national celebration,” Nemcha Kipgen said, inspiring the massive rally.

People along National Highway 102 gave a heartfelt reception to bikers as they passed through various bazaars including Motbung, Saparmeina, and Keithelmanbi.

In an inspiring show of patriotism, men, women, children, and students gathered to greet the rally with enthusiasm, while proudly waving the Indian national flag.

According to the organisers, the bike rally not only symbolized the Kuki-Zo people’s commitment to the nation but also reinforced their unity and resolve to contribute to India’s growth and development.

It may be mentioned, Nemcha Kipgen, the lone woman minister among the council of ministers led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh was among the 10 Kuki-Zo legislators demanding a separate administration for the Kuki-Zo people that would be carved out from Manipur.
