Amid nationwide lockdown, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday ensured that his every minister practice “social-distancing” at the cabinet meeting as well.

Modi on Wednesday had a cabinet meeting at his 7, Lok Kalyan Marg residence in New Delhi.

As the meeting started at 10:30 am, all the ministers were happy to see the unique sitting arrangement Modi had arranged for the cabinet meeting.

Doing away with the traditional conference-style sitting arrangement, the PM had directed his staff to position chairs to guarantee social distancing.

The sitting arrangement on Wednesday’s cabinet meeting was in a free-sitting style, but was definitely unique.

It was the first cabinet meeting after Modi had announced complete lockdown across the country for 21 days and urged people to practice social distancing at all cost.

Modi was seen sitting at one end of the hall, flanked by Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

Everyone was seen sitting at a distance of more than four feet.

All the ministers were physically present at the PM’s residence for the Cabinet meeting.

Jitendra Singh, minister for the Development of Northeastern Region, was quick to tweet about the unique cabinet meeting, and said social distancing was strictly followed.
