Silchar MP and All India Mahila Congress president Sushmita Dev on Monday saddled a party worker to exhibit her feudal mentality while shouting slogans against price rise and Modi government at New Delhi.

The video of slogan shouting Sushmita saddling a party worker with a mic on her hand surprised all and sundry.

Sushmita chanted slogans like ‘diesel, petrol kam karo’, ‘Modiji murdabad’ while taking part in the Bharat Bandh called by her party on Monday.

Sushmita is the third generation politician in her family. Her grandfather Late Satindra Mohan Dev was close confidante of Jawaharlal Nehru. He was offered the governorship of Bihar, but he turned it down, preferring to stay in his hometown of Silchar. He was an MLA from South Assam for 10 years since Indian Independence.

Her father Late Santosh Mohan Dev was the former union minister of state and her mother Bithika Dev was also the Congress MLA from Silchar.
