Sikkim Krantikari Morcha party has demanded that minister RB Subba should be sacked immediately from his posts and also from the Sikkim Democratic Front party for his hatred remarks against particular communities of Sikkim. RB Subba is the law minister of the state. He also holds the portfolios of sports, HRD and parliamentary affairs department.
The party asserted that the people’s representative needs to be more responsible and accountable towards the people, the state and the nation.

It has to be mentioned here that the SKM was referring to an audio clip of the phone conversation allegedly between minister RB Subba and a Sikkim Democratic Front party functionary that had gone viral in the social media some days back.
Addressing a press conference in Gangtok on Tuesday, SKM spokesperson, Jacob Khaling alleged that the phone conversation had shown the real face, character and stand of the ruling SDF party involved in the politics of divide and rule in the state. He further alleged that the SDF party had destroyed the communal harmony and unity of Sikkimese people for its political benefits.
Khaling alleged that the phone conversation of the minister with the SDF functionary was not only an insult to two particular communities but the entire communities of Sikkim. He further accused the SDF party of trying to suppress these two communities since inception.

He also alleged the phone conversation also proves that the State Election Commission was not independent and the ruling party has been controlling the commission. He further alleged that all reservations in the recently held Panchayat Election were made illegally by the ruling party and not by the commission.
Refuting the allegations levelled by the SKM, minister RB Subba, however, issued a press release stating that the audio clip in the social media was false and doctored posted only to defame him and create social misunderstanding.
On the Minister’s press release, Mr Khaling that if the audio clip was a false and doctored then there should be investigation into the matter in the forensic lab. However, he stressed that it was the minister’s voice only who gave clear and exact information regarding the people of the area in the conversation.
