231 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Sikkim.    

The new cases have pushed the State’s total cases tally up to 17,656.

Of the 231 new cases, 140 were detected in East Sikkim, 55 in South Sikkim, 34 in West Sikkim and 2 in North Sikkim district.    

The Himalayan state now has 3869 active cases.

These new cases in Sikkim have been detected after testing 2135 samples.    

The new cases in Sikkim have been detected at a positivity rate of 10.8%.    

Moreover, Sikkim has logged one more COVID-19 death.     

With this one new death case, the COVID-19 death toll in Sikkim has risen to 276.

13,265 people in the State so far have recovered from the disease.     

Meanwhile, 246 coronavirus-positive patients have migrated to other states.   

Sikkim’s recovery rate currently stands at 75.1 per cent.
