The head of administration, technical department of All India Football Federation (AIFF), New Delhi, Pushpargha Chattopadhyay arrived in Gangtok on Monday afternoon for carrying out inspection of Sikkim Himalayan Sporting Club with regards to accreditation of the academy.
Immediately on his arrival, Chattopadhyay held a meeting with Sikkim Football Association (SFA) president Menla Ethenpa.
Menla welcomed AIFF official by offering the traditional khada.
Later in a statement issued by SFA president said that he had a very fruitful discussion with Chattopadhyay for the development of football in Sikkim.
They will also have a second round of meeting before Chattopadhyay leaves Gangtok on May 30, the statement added.
Meanwhile inspection of Sikkim Himalayan Sporting Club is underway on Tuesday from 10 am.
The AIFF official is physically inspecting the infrastructure of Sikkim Himalayan Sporting Club and also interacted with executive members of the club.
He is also meeting the budding as well as senior players of the club later in the day.
The Sikkim Himalayan Sporting Club confirmed that the club is ready in all respects for assessment and inspection by the AIFF official.
If Sikkim Himalayan Sporting Club passes this inspection then their road for entry in forthcoming I-League (junior) and other I-League series will open up in the coming days.
