Sikkim chief minister Prem Singh Golay chaired a meeting with the representatives of the old settlers, business community of Sikkim and the president of Chamber of Commerce, Sikkim.

During the meeting, the old settlers and business community of Sikkim requested the chief minister to look into their pertinent pending demands.

After a patient hearing, the chief minister assured them that unlike during the previous government where their demands were kept languishing, the present SKM government will lend all support and cooperation and their issues will be solved soon one by one without any further delay.

The chief minister also added that in the month of January a high level delegation consisting of his Cabinet ministers and representatives of the old settlers will visit New Delhi.

They will be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, union home minister Amit Shah and the finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman to discuss and resolve the pertinent demands of the old settlers and the business community of Sikkim.

The representatives of the old settlers during the meeting also expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the chief minister for his cooperation and support.

The meeting also had the presence of tourism minister B S Panth and CMO secretary S D Dhakal.
