After making its presence felt in Bollywood, Sikkim is all set to make its foray in to the South Indian film industry.

Sikkim boy Robin G Gurung is presently working as the assistant line producer cum artiste coordinator in a Rajnikant starrer untitled South Indian movie shot recently in exotic locales of Sikkim and Darjeeling hills.

The movie is being produced by Sun Productions and was shot in various regions including Sikkim, Darjeeling, Mirik, Kurseong and Siliguri over a period of 45 days.

The remaining portion of the movie will be shot at Dehradun and Lucknow.

The movie is being made in four languages – English, Hindi, Tamil and Telegu.

Interacting with media in Gangtok on Monday, Robin said his role during the shoot was to provide local actors.

Notably, many aspiring local actors have been given opportunity to be part of the movie.

Some of them from Sikkim are Timothy Rai, Rupen Pradhan, Manam Limboo, Adarsh Pradhan, Roban Harijan and Saideep, from Darjeeling is Mingma Norbu Tamang who got an interesting role and will also be travelling to Dehradun and Lucknow.

The 28-year-old from Padamchey, Robin is also an actor by profession.

For the past few years, he has acted in several films including Bollywood, Kollywood, Tollywood and documentaries.

His Bollywood film ‘Back To Dad’ was recently released early July and ‘Ishqani 2.0’ is in its post-production stage.
