Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, SKM senior vice-president, TN Sharma, who was a member in the delegation to New Delhi, informed that the delegation met the Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju on these demands of the State.

He informed that the delegation had a brief discussion on these issues with Central Ministers and submitted a memorandum with the request to introduce and pass bills in the upcoming Parliamentary session for the inclusion of eleven left out communities of Sikkim in the list of Scheduled Tribes and to grant seats to Limboo and Tamang in the State Assembly. He added that copies of the memorandum have also been posted to the Prime Minister Office and office of the Union Minister for Home Affairs.

Sharma expressed that the tour was very successful with the fruitful discussion with the Central Ministers and the party was hopeful that these bills would be introduced in the upcoming Parliamentary session. However, he mentioned that discussions with the Central Ministers indicated that if the State government would have taken these issues with consensus of opposition parties and concerned organisations then the Centre would had fulfilled these demands long time back.
