Acting on a tip-off, Railway Protection Force (RPF) arrested one youth during regular checking for his alleged involvement in drugs smuggling from 12505 Dn North East Express at around 10.55 am at Rangia Railway Junction on Monday.
The 32-year-old accused has been identified as Usman Khan, who hails from Garhimendu’s Janta Mazdoor Colony in North-East Delhi.
The RPF seized around 1 kg of brown sugar recovered from the possession of Khan.
As per reports, the accused kept the drugs concealed under his trouser wrapped by a plastic tape near both the knees.
Further investigations are on.

It may be mentioned that during an anti-drug operation, the Railway Police at Guwahati Railway Police Station in Paltan Bazar was able to recover a huge consignment of drugs from a train on May 5, 2018.
The Railway Police later seized the drugs.
According to Railway Police, the drugs were recovered from coach No 4 of the Jaswant Express which was coming from Manipur and was on the way towards Bengaluru. Railway Police also informed that one 25-year-old youth, identified as Asif Wasim, was taking these suspected drugs to sell in Bengaluru.
The Railway Police arrested the youth, who hails from Lilong in Manipur.
Railway Police sources stated that 45 gms of white heroin in 3 packets and 40 gms of brown sugar have been recovered. The cost of the drugs has been estimated to be Rs 50 lakh.
The Railway Police continues to nab people involved in drug trafficking and also recovers consignments of drugs from trains from time to time.
