Arunachal Pradesh Governor BD Mishra on Friday congratulated the Scouts and Guides on winning the 19th Rajya Puraskar Award and said Rajya Puraskar reflects their hard work and dedication and they truly deserve it.
Arunachal Pradesh Governor BD Mishra on Friday graced the 19th Rajya Puraskar Award ceremony of the Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG) conducted at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan here.
In all, 42 Scouts and Guides from 11 districts of the State – Tirap, East Siang, Lower Dibang Valley, Namsai, Upper Subansiri, Lohit, Papum Pare, Lower Subansiri, West Siang, Upper Siang and Siang – were given away the highest BSG award in the State level by the Governor, who is patron of BSG in the State, in presence of Education Minister Honchun Ngandam and senior officers of Education Department.
Rajya Puraskar Award is also known as Governor’s Award which is the highest honour at the state level given to the scouts and guides in recognition of their sincere service to the mankind through this BSG movements worldwide
He said that they are the assets and support of the State and they must continue to maintain discipline, be honest and transparent in their approach.
Referring to the fundamental duties as enshrined in the Indian Constitution, the Governor urged the students to develop scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry and reform. He also advised the students to be connected to humane values, i.e. fortitude, forgiveness, lessen pride, honesty, cleanliness, self control, calm, knowledge, truthfulness and no rage.
Minister Ngandam, Director of Secondary Education cum BSG State Chief Commissioner Gania Leij and Deputy Director Secondary Education cum State Secretary (BSG) S Ronrang also spoke on the occasion.
State Scout Organizer P Kalita presented a brief report on scouting and guiding moment in Arunachal Pradesh, while State Training Commissioner (Guides) Kempi Pakam briefed the Governor about the achievements of the BSG of the State.
On the occasion, the Scouts and Guides gave a first aid demonstration. First Lady of State Neelam Misra, Secretary Education Madhu Rani Teotia, government officials, teachers, Scout & Guide Masters and Trainers, Rovers & Rangers also attended the function.
