Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) president PS Golay will take oath as chief minister of the state on Monday.

He will be administered the oath of office by the governor Ganga Prasad in a swearing-in ceremony of the chief minister and council of ministers at Paljor Stadium here.

A delegation of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha led by Golay called on the governor Ganga Prasad here at Raj Bhawan on Saturday and staked claim to form the next government in the State.

The delegation comprised of 17 legislators and senior leaders of the party submitted the resolution of the party to the Governor.

As per sources, it has been known that the party submitted the name of PS Golay as the chief minister.

As per a press release issued by Raj Bhawan on Sunday states, “Governor Ganga Prasad has been pleased to accept the memorandum submitted by Prem Singh Tamang [Golay], president of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha Party and leader of Legislative Party of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha to form the government.”

Speaking to media on Saturday,  Golay stated that SKM will start its work in the interest of Sikkim and its people soon after forming the government.

“We have made announcements in the interest of Sikkim and its people so we would strictly work on our announcements,” he said.

Responding to queries on by-elections in the State, SKM president said despite being in the opposition in the State SKM has won 17 seats and now going to form the government so the party was fully prepare for the by-elections.

Queries on SKM support in the Centre, he respond, “We supported BJP before the election and we are partner of NDA and our MP Indra Hang Subba is already in Delhi in today’s meeting of NDA to again elect Narendra Modi as the leader of NDA.”

The SKM president thanked the people of Sikkim for their support to the party to bring into the government this time.
