Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday will hold a discussion with chief ministers on the rollout of the vaccine programme for Covid-19 in all states and union territories.

Modi through virtual meetings will review the Covid-19 situation in Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, West Bengal and Kerala.

These states have been witnessing an alarming spike in positive cases during the past few days.

The Union ministry of health and family has sent central teams to these states to review and adopt measures to control further transmission.

The centre is busy devising the vaccine delivery system as Covid-19 cases have surpassed nine million in the country.

44,000 people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Monday, taking the total positive cases in the country to 91,39,866.

According to the data released by the Union ministry of health and family welfare, 511 new deaths have been recorded due to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours taking the toll to 1,33,738.

While the active cases stood at 4,43,486, a total of 85,62,641 have recovered from the virus.

41,024 patients were discharged across the country in the past 24 hours.

While the recovery rate stands at 93.86 per cent, the fatality rate is at 1.46 per cent in the country at present.
