The Union ministry of health and family welfare on Thursday deputed high level central teams to Manipur, Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat to help local administrations in containing the spread of Covid-19.
These states are witnessing an alarming spike in Covid-19 cases at present.
While Manipur shares 0.64 per cent of India’s total 44,3303 active cases, Haryana shares 4.41 per cent.
Rajasthan and Gujarat share 4.39 per cent 2.81 per cent of the total active cases in the country respectively.
The positivity rate is 6.36 percent in Manipur, 6.81 percent in Haryana, 3.09 percent in Gujarat and 6.26 percent in Rajasthan.

“The teams will visit the districts reporting high number of Covid-19 cases and support their efforts towards strengthening containment, surveillance, testing, infection prevention and control measures, and efficient clinical management of the positive cases,” said health ministry officials.
The central teams will also guide in effectively managing the challenges related to timely diagnosis and follow up.

The central government has been deputing similar central teams from time to time to visit various states and union territories reporting high caseload of Covid-19.
“These teams interact with the states and union territories governments to understand the different challenges and issues being faced by them in combating the pandemic, said health officials.
