Police from Bagori range of Kaziranga National Park of Assam have busted a racket of stolen cars flourishing for a long time at Beltola in Guwahati.

According to information, this vicious circle of car lifters had stolen a 10-wheeler truck from a line hotel from Bagori near Kaziranga National Park on July 17 last.

Later, the owner of the truck, Ram Prasad Yadav, lodged a complaint at the Bagori police station.

Basing on the complaint, a police team from Bagori that was investigating the case finally located the truck at Byrnihat along Assam-Meghalaya interstate boundary.

Police had seized the stolen truck bearing registration no BR-06-B-9637 and taken it in their custody.

Police also arrested four dreaded car lifters from the spot.

Notably two of the arrested – Rajen Sahani and Upinder Sahani sold off the truck with a help of a third person at Rs seven lakhs to two persons of Beltola in Guwahati.

They have been identified as Birendra Sahani and Rakesh Kumar.

The arrested persons, all hailing from Bihar, confessed during interrogation about the whole incident and how they have concealed the truck in Byrnihat area.
