The Naga Students’ Federation Arunachal (NSFA) has opposed the creation of a new district within the territory of Naga areas in Arunachal Pradesh.
“According to some inputs it is learnt that the Government is trying to carve another district from Changlang district for the non-Nagas of the district,” general secretary of the association Victor Honlem Khangham pointed out at a meeting at Khonsa on February 7.

The NSFA resolved that “not even an inch of land will be allowed to carve out from the Naga territory and we will stand firm for our rights and fight tooth and nail if the hidden proposal is factual.”
At the meeting, NSFA president Gawang Hakhun expressed concern at refugees from Bangladesh identifying themselves as Chakmas and Hajongs in some parts of Naga areas in Changlang district. He also appealed to Naga legislators of Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts to stand strongly for the people’s development.
The release also informed that the federation changed its nomenclature from Arunachal Naga Students’ Federation to Naga Students’ Federation Arunachal at the meeting.
