GPRN holds condolence meet for Captain R.S. Winson in Ukhrul

Imphal: Self-styled captain of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim -Isaac Muiva (NSCN-IM) was ambushed and killed by the Kuki National Army — Burma (KNA-B) at Kettha,  about half a kilometre from Homlin which is separated only by the bridge over the Chindwin River in Myanmar bordering Manipur state sector of India, reports reaching the state capital said on Tuesday.

Captain R.S. Winson of the Naga Army, who was a resident of Manipur’s Ukhrul district bordering Myanmar on the east was shot in the back, with the bullet passing through the right side of his chest from back to front on June 15, 2024, at around 6:30 p.m. R.S.

Winson hailed from Ngainga village of Ukhrul district and enrolled in the Naga Army on August 19, 1994, says his elder brother Wungsin R. Shimray at the condolence service.

The Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN), the political wing of the NSCN-IM held a condolence service for Captain R.S. Winson of the Naga Army at the Tangkhul Nagalong Hall, Ukhrul, on Monday.

Several people attended the condolence service and paid their last respects to the departed soul. Later, his mortal remains were taken to his village for burial.
