Now its turn of the royal scion of Tripura, Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma to seek ruling from the Supreme Court for implementing National Registrar of Citizens (NRC) to keep illegal infiltration into Tripura at bay.

In a writ petition, Debbarma pledged before the apex court seeking initiating NRC in Tripura in the line of Assam and the plea was admitted on Monday.

According to royal scion, majority tribal people have lost the ‘power’ due to continuous infiltration from across the border. He disclosed that in the plea he had requested the apex court to increase scheduled tribe reserved seats in the Assembly.
He further clarified that he has filed the writ petition as a citizen not a political personality.
Notably, the royal scion is the working president of Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC).
