The NorthEast United FC (NEUFC) has announced trials for joining the official NEUFC youth team.
The football club, which was able to reach the semifinal in the second leg of the Indian Super League 2018-19, has invited aspiring footballers from the northeastern region to participate in the trials.

The trials will be open for individuals born between January 1, 2003 and December 31, 2006 for whom the trials will be held on July 27, 2019.

On the other hand, individuals born between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2008 will be able to participate in the trials on July 28, 2019.

The NorthEast United Football Club on its website has mentioned that the trials will be held at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati’s Sarusajai.
All the participants have been asked to carry a birth certificate, a valid government identity card, two passport size photographs and relevant gear for the trials.
The participants have been requested to report for the trials at 7 am sharp on July 27 and July 28, 2019 according to their age groups as mentioned above.
The selected individuals will be integrated into the club’s youth teams and be groomed by Khalid Jamil, the newly appointed Head of Academy and Grassroots Development for NEUFC.
The club aims to build a sustainable academy setup which identifies the best of the talent in the region and provide them the platform to showcase their skills at the highest levels of Indian football.
NorthEast United FC (NEUFC) has been playing in the Indian Super League (ISL), the premier competition of Indian football.
At advent of the ISL, the club, led by actor-producer John Abraham, secured the North-East franchise because the region is the epicentre of footballing talent in the country.
On April 13, 2014, the club, which encapsulates all eight states of the Northeast, was conceived.
It was a historic moment in Indian football as NorthEast United FC became the first team in the world to have a representation by region, rather than representation by city.
