Guwahati: At least four people, including a woman, were killed and seven injured in a head-on collision between a minibus and a truck on National Highway-27 in Assam’s Kamrup Metropolitan district on Sunday, police said.
The accident took place in the evening at Tetelia near Sonapur, according to Guwahati Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (Traffic) Safiqul Hussain.
Hussain said the minibus, carrying passengers, was travelling towards Guwahati while the truck was heading in the opposite direction when the collision occurred. The driver of the minibus lost control of the vehicle, which then hit the truck, he said.
The four deceased included a woman, police said.
The seven injured were taken to Sonapur Civil Hospital and later referred to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, Hussain said.
