Guwahati: Schools from the Northeast scored goals in plenty to start day-one of the โ63rd Subroto Cup Junior Boys International Football Tournamentโ played across various venues of New Delhi and the National Capital region (NCR).
Assamโs Numaligarh Higher Secondary School started off the high-scoring day with a 6-1 victory against Arunachal Pradeshโs Sainik School in the opening match of the tournament.

Meghalayaโs Myngken Christian Higher Secondary School scored 23 goals past Daman & Diu and Dadra Nagar Haveliโs St. Francis Xavier High School for the highest victory of the day.
As many as 110 goals were scored on the day in the total 16 matches played at the Ambedkar Stadium, Tejas Football Ground, G.D Goenka World School ground and KIIT Global School ground.

In spite of the goal fest, the match between New Delhiโs Mamta Modern School and Tripura Sports School ended in a goalless draw.
Mizoramโs RMSA High School scored 11 goals while Manipurโs T.G English School netted seven goals.
In the other high scoring matches, Uttarakhandโs Amenity Public School won 15-0 against Gorakhpurโs Air Force School while Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan beat Jharkhandโs Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya 11-1.
Day-two will also see 16 matches being played at all four venues in Delhi and the NCR.
